The ValueScene model portfolio consists mainly of shipping stocks.
If a stock is included in the portfolio depends on several factors like the stock price, the governance of the company, the state of the segment cycle and more.
The model is not identical to my personal portfolio which can differ for historical, speculative and tax reasons!
Please consider that I also own other stocks and primarily broad market index funds, but this model portfolio is similar to the holdings in the speculative part of my personal portfolio.
I try to update the model once a month and try to make it easy to rebalance while I may enter and exit positions at any time.

Shipping is a very cyclical and volatile sector that’s often not very suitable for buy and hold investors.
Please consider your own risk tolerance and choose your asset allocation accordingly.

August wasn’t the best month for us, ending with an MTD decline of -2.04%. No changes were made to the positions in the portfolio. Normally, I would have added ZIM, but I was on vacation and didn’t want to add the stock in hindsight. Let’s see how things look at the end of the month. At the moment, things haven’t gone too well for shipping and the whole market … Read more
